Anyone have suggestions as to the best Marriot hotel on Oahu and Maui
that early teens (12&13) might enjoy? Thanks.

Oahu:

I'd stay on the beach at Waikiki if you can. The catch is, Marriott
doesn't have the best properties on Waikiki (for beachfront, Sheraton has
the most choices).

The Renaissance Ilikai is at the very corner of the beach there and isn't
really "beachfront." However, it's a long way from the center of things.

The Waikiki Beach Marriott is across a very busy street from Waikiki
Beach, but it's both a nicer hotel and likely a better choice.

The two Marriott properties in Lahaina (Maui) are undergoing extensive
renovations. The one in Wailea is co-run with Outrigger and is probably
the best bet for kids at present. Then again, you didn't mention when you
were traveling. :)

I would think kids in that age group would enjoy any of the Marriots in
Hawaii. You are invited to visit my Oahu and Maui webpages at:
http://keith.martin.home.att.net/vOahu.html and
http://keith.martin.home.att.net/vMaui.html - where you'll find no
advertising, no pop-ups, no cookies and nothing for sale. Bon voyage. KM

Unless things have changed, the beach at the Wailea Marriot looks very nice
when you're out of the water, but, once in the water the bottom is very rocky
and hard on the feet. KM

We're going to the Marriott Ihilani on Oahu next week, so I'll let you
know how my 12 1/2 year old likes it.

Depending on your tastes, I think you'll really like the Marriot Ihilani -

it's far from the madding crowd in Waikiki and the location, beaches and
architecture are superb. KM

Hard to believe that kids would enjoy anything.
