I find it hard to believe that the Frontier was still profitable. The Ho
propbably was because it had such a small overhead. And the Stardust was
probably somewhere in the middle, like the Sahara and Riviera.

Las Vegas is a town that MUST continue to redefine itself. It is an
anomaly of a city, but it seems that in order to stay alive it must tear
down the old and put up something new.

There used to be an amusement park here in SA called "Playland Park." It
was the ONLY place to go for rides, etc. when I was a kid (other than
rodeos and carnivals which were episodic). Then Six Flags and Sea World
moved it and Playland Park was doomed. That's life.

The Frontier was still profitable. Heck, they never put any money back in
the place! Of course, it didn't rake in the kind of dough that Wynn or
Bellagio bring in. However, since it was still turning a profit, why the
rush to tear it down when you don't have the financing in place for what
you're building to replace it? Would it have killed them to make a little
money while waiting to get all the financing lined up? Now, they don't have
any casino profits or money to start building their $8 billion megaresort.
It wouldn't surprise me if the end up selling the land because they can't
afford to build anything on it.

Of course, it would be much more affordable to throw together 2 or 3
Westward Ho-type properties on that land. You could probably build them for
about $5-$10 million each, then sit back & watch the profits roll in!

Yeah, but look at Japan now. That's why we should nuke Iraq. Should've
nuked it back in the 90's. BagDad would be like Tokyo now.

Doc, I'm down to 187 lbs. I do 300 push ups and run 5 miles a day
(inside on a treadmill, it's too hot in Vegas to run outside, except
today it was a lot cooler and sprinkling some. Oh that's right, I live

When the TMG gas milage extention system comes on the market, no one
will complain about gas prices any more. Probably won't be available
until 2009, sorry folks red tape. George, you should stay away from
places like Mc Doanalds.

People complain about $4 a gallon gas.  They should be complaining about a
$4 cup of coffee.

I like coffee... but I never bought into the Starbucks mystique.  It's just
coffee with various kinds of crap added.

McDonald's coffee suits me fine.
