Uh, no.

the one we carried until about 10 years ago.
it's lighter than the 870 and actually has a louder pump action.
00 buckshot is good. Nothing like sending the equivalent of 9 .32
cal bullets down range.
Lovely. So, what do you think about the Remington 700 PSS .308 sniper
rifle? I am thinking about getting one for Christmas - before you-
know-who bans them... and Christmas.

I don't think anyone, including you-know-who will be banning them.
The Remington 700 PSS .308 is pretty much a standard police SWAT
rifle. Other than that I don't much about them.
In the early 60s when I was in the USMC, we used commercial Remington
700, first in 30-06 and then in 7.62mm NATO (a .308 more or less) that
seemed to be a better round and much easy to find. It was a great
rifle but basically it was still a stock hunting rifle with the action
tightened up, had a heavier barrel and a Lyman scope.
It was nothing like the super accuratized M40A1 they use now. We
also didn't have the luxury of having anything but out of the
box, military contract, rounds. I think the rounds for the M40A1 are
all hand loaded in Quantico.
