I live in the USA. Can I just walk over to the Canadian side or do I
need special paperwork or something? I saw a lot of motel/hotel
places that claimed to be close to the falls. Any suggestions for a
safe and clean place? Thanks. |

Yes you can walk across the bridge at the falls into Canada it is a
wounderfull view crossing over. Best time to see the falls in at sun
down when they turn on the lights see the falls under colored lights

For the Canadian Park site, use:

If you are going to the Falls for a 'once-in-a-lifetime' experience, pay the
money and get a fallsview hotel on the Canadian side. If you aren't that
excited about it, there are lots of cheaper places. I have heard that
Niagara on the Lake, nearby on the Canadian side, is quite a place to visit
also.

We visited the Falls last month and stayed at the Hilton Niagara Falls (on
the Canadian side) with a Fallsview room. Unfortunately, a new casino was
being built right between our room and the falls. While it did not obstruct
our view of either the American or Canadian falls, there were a few cranes
in the way, so we felt it was a bit of an eyesore. The hotel was also
lacking for other reasons that I will not go into here.
We also visited Niagara on the Lake and stopped by a few wineries. If you
will be in the Falls area for a couple of days, you can easily spend a day
doing that.
